Contractors I would use on my own house

Because the worst time to find a good plumber is when you need a plumber.

Tell me what you need  →

Every client eventually asks me the same question: do you know someone who can do this? Roof, foundation, electrical panel, the bathroom that has to be finished before photos. Over the years I have collected the answers — the people who showed up, quoted honestly, and did not disappear halfway through.

It is free, and you do not have to be a client. Tell me what you need below and I will point you at the two or three who actually fit your job.

How it works

Three steps, and a real person on the other end.

  1. Tell me what you need Two minutes. Trade, rough scope, where the property is, and when you want it done. The more specific you are, the better the match.
  2. I send names that fit Not the whole list — the two or three who suit your job, your area and your timeline, with a note on what each is good at. Usually within a day.
  3. You take it from there You contact them directly and agree your own terms. I am not a middleman and I take nothing from either side.

What “vetted” means here

Worth being precise, because the word gets used loosely.

To be on this list, a contractor has to meet all of the following:

  • I have personally hired them, or seen their finished work on a home I represented
  • They hold a current California state license for the work they do, and carry insurance
  • They returned calls and gave a written quote before starting
  • No client I referred has reported a serious problem with them

One credible complaint and someone comes off the list. That is the whole quality mechanism — it is small on purpose, and it stays useful only if I am willing to remove people.

Tell me what you need

Eight quick questions. I read every one of these myself.

I run a small brokerage here and I answer my own phone. If your project turns into a bigger question — whether to renovate or sell, what a remodel is actually worth at resale — ask me that too. No charge, no pitch.
